6 Apps to Make it Easier to Work on the Go

Apps make the world go round these days.Okay, not really but they are a HUGE part in me being able to get anything done. See, we’re right in the middle of summer vacation. That means I have 3 kids home with me pretty much all day.

Which also means I’m not able to work a steady day at my computer. Now don’t get me wrong. I love summer vacation. It’s a time where I can slow down and spend so much time with the kiddos that they have to tell me to go away sometimes. {yeah, that happened.} But I still need to get some work done.

And rather than feeling like I need to be chained to my desk while my children look at me with their sweet little faces, desperately wishing to be taken to the park, I rely on my phone.

Yes. I am that mother at the park sometimes.

I’ll play and play and play and then they’ll ditch me for the cooler crowd {aka, the other kids at the park} so I’ll use that time to hop on my phone for a few minutes and knock out some work. And I couldn’t do it without my favorite apps!

As a business owner there are times that you'll have to work on the go. Luckily, working on the go is easier than ever with these apps!

Facebook Pages Manager.

I’m one of those people that still loves facebook for business. I connect with so many people over there that I had to have some way to manage my page on the go. You can do a limited amount with the regular Facebook app but the Pages Manager does nearly everything the full website does! I especially love that I can broadcast live to my audience via the app.

Trello.

Okay, this was one of those things that I wasn’t sure I was ever going to really use. And ta da! I totally do. Trello is a project management app that goes along with their full site. I’m currently using Trello to help organize my editorial calendar, my workshops and will soon be using it to manage a new blog! It’s really great for people that are visual and need to see things laid out in order to work properly. AKA people like me.

Little Moments

Guys… friends… this is my go to photo editing app. I’ve tried tons of them and none of them clicked with me quite like this one. I edit 98% of my Instagram photos with this app because it’s so so easy. And I’ve said it before; I’m not always the most tech savvy. This app is straightforward and so so fast to use. Perfect for a quick edit in the parking lot.

Google Voice

As a coach, I have to take and make a lot of calls. {and as a former phone hater, this is totally not where I saw myself 5 years ago!} Most of the time, I like to use Skype or UberConference. I can use it on the computer and it’s all set up to keep personal information personal. But sometimes you have to give a number out. And the last thing I want to do is give my personal number to everyone. Makes sense, right? With Google Voice, I’m able to have a second number on my cell phone for business. I can set office hours there so that people can only call my business line and have it ring during certain times.

This, my friends, is a lifesaver when I give my business number in face to face settings!

Later

You probably already know about my love of Later.com. This is an instagram scheduling service. And it’s saved my butt quite a few times. I simply edit my photos on the computer, upload them to their website and it pops up with a notification on my phone, complete with my caption copied. Because Instagram doesn’t allow third parties to post to your profile, you still have to manually post it but it’s as simple as pasting the copied caption over and hitting post! Easy peasy. Making it an obvious choice for my list.

WordSwag

Ever wonder how people make such cute quote images? Chances are they’re using WordSwap. This app lets you add text to any image you have or any image from their library and it automatically styles the text for you. There are different style option, of course, but you don’t have to do any crazy fine tuning.

Also, pro tip. Add your username or watermark to your photos by clicking ‘add watermark/logo’ after you’ve done the first save. I can’t believe how long it took me to figure that one out!

And finally, my favorite app of all time is…

Pokemon Go!

Just kidding ;)

So there you have it. These are the apps I use pretty much every single day.

What apps are you obsessed with?

Until next time, have a beautiful day!
