6 Must Read Books for Creative Entrepreneurs

I know what you’re thinking.“Erin, you are not seriously telling me to cram more books into my day…”

I know. We’re hitting the end of summer vacation and you already have enough on your plate. But I’m a firm believer in spending time each day reading something. Whether it’s some fantastic fiction or non fiction to help empower you and inspire you.

Okay, the actual truth here is that I really really love reading. I’m not even going to try to justify it. Luckily, reading is one of the best things you can do for yourself as an adult. Between boosting your intelligence and possibly preventing alzheimer's, reading is one of those things that you really should spend more time doing. Check out this article from Real Simple if you don’t believe me!

Friend, I’ve read so many books this year, it isn’t even funny. And while there have been some total flops, there have been some absolutely incredible ones too. Especially when it comes to books for entrepreneurs.

Reading is one of the best things you can do for yourself. And since you should be reading anyway, here are 6 books that are amazing reads for creative entrepreneurs!

Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity, and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur

I absolutely love this book. While this doesn’t provide the roadmap to starting a successful business, it helps you overcome your most difficult obstacle. Yourself. This book is encouraging, empowering and will help you gain the confidence you need to create success in your life.

The School of Greatness: A Real-World Guide to Living Bigger, Loving Deeper, and Leaving a Legacy

I heard a lot of hype around this book and I’ll be honest… I didn’t think it would appeal to me. But being the crazy person I am, I read it anyway. And I was blown away. Lewis Howes really shows you how to take yourself and your business to the next level.  So I’d agree with the choice of title. Definitely a great step in the journey to personal greatness.

#GirlBoss

Tell me you didn’t see this coming.  I bought this book after a friend kept recommending it to me. And because of the pink cover. Yeah yeah, that’s silly. But goodness, am I glad I did. Reading the story of a woman who went from dumpster diving to running a $100 million+ empire is enough to put a little more hustle in my bustle. Especially on these long summer days. Sophia Amoruso is real, down to earth and has no problem telling it like it is. And that, my friend, is inspiring.

Leave Your Mark: Land Your Dream Job. Kill It in Your Career. Rock Social Media.

If you’re looking for a lighter but informative read, this is the one for you. But I’ll be straight with you here. If you’re working online, some of the chapters may not apply to you. One example being a chapter completely on scoring an internship. However, for a beginner online business owner, this is a winner. Social media etiquette and insider tips are great for those just starting out or for those looking for a little refresher!

The Desire Map

I’m almost certain that you haven’t been able to get online without seeing this one lately. And that is for a very good reason. The Desire Map is absolutely one of the best books I’ve ever read on goal setting ever. It helps you learn how to set goals that are truly in alignment with your values and keeps you moving forward. One of the best things about this book is the flow of it. It’s written in such a way that you really feel like the author is reaching out to you. It’s just fabulous.

Platform

I won’t lie. I L.O.V.E. love this book. Platform lays everything out for the new business owner or entrepreneur in a way that you aren’t left guessing on how you should move forward or what you should do next. It’s well organized and filled to the brim with valuable information. The best part is that you can really apply much of the advice to any business that you have; which makes this one of my favorite books to recommend.

So there you have it… 6 books that you can probably knock out within the next few months. C’mon, it’ll be fun.

Are you reading anything amazing right now? Have any books you’d add to this list? Leave me a comment; I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time, have a beautiful day!
